Kibu is a technology company that has developed an ultra-secure communication and collaboration platform designed to restore real-world trust in digital interactions. Founded in 2023 by Ari Andersen and Eftychis Gregos-Mourginakis, the platform addresses security challenges like verifying identities and protecting against AI-enabled threats such as deepfakes. The founders, both alumni of American University's School of International Service, partnered with a former professor, Eric Novotny, to build the company. Andersen's interest in digital trust and privacy issues began during a project with his production company, and the rise of generative AI with ChatGPT's launch in late 2022 solidified the need for Kibu.

The platform enables organizations to secure confidential workflows, assets, and communications. It allows users to create private, end-to-end encrypted spaces called 'Pods' where verified members can communicate, share documents, authorize transactions, and make decisions with confidence in the identity of all participants. This system integrates advanced cryptographic protocols and biometric verification. Kibu's architecture is user-centric and designed to support various needs, including corporate requirements where metadata privacy may conflict with reporting standards. The company targets clients such as private sector leaders, law enforcement, and government-affiliated organizations who require a higher level of security than consumer messaging apps like Signal or WhatsApp can provide.
