About KASKO

KASKO provides an "InsurTech as a Service" platform enabling insurers to design, distribute, and manage digital insurance services. Founded in London in 2015 by CEO Nikolaus Sühr and CTO Matthew Wardle, the company was established to address the insurance industry's reliance on inflexible legacy IT systems. The platform significantly reduces the time and cost for insurers to launch new products, from a traditional 18 months down to approximately four to six weeks.

Nikolaus Sühr brought over a decade of experience from the insurance and consulting sectors, stemming from a family business in specialty auto insurance. Matthew Wardle contributed more than ten years of expertise in tech startups and IT consulting. They met while studying in the UK and later decided to combine their respective backgrounds to launch KASKO. Initially conceived as a B2C app for short-term car insurance, the company pivoted to a more successful B2B2C model, acting as a technology intermediary between insurers and digital distribution channels.

KASKO's core offering is a white-label, API-based platform that allows insurers and MGAs to build and deploy insurance products without extensive internal IT resources. It functions as a middle layer connecting insurance providers with digital marketplaces and customer touchpoints. The modular platform covers the entire customer journey, including digital quotes, policy administration, payments, and first notification of loss (FNOL). Its components include a product builder for configuration, a customizable front-end library, omni-channel integration capabilities, and policy administration tools. The business model is primarily based on earning commissions for each policy sold through the platform, which are shared with distribution partners.

The company serves clients such as insurers, MGAs, brokers, and digital brands looking to embed insurance products into their customer experiences. KASKO has launched over 40 products with more than 15 insurance partners across several countries, including the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. The firm's development team is primarily based in Latvia.
