Kapitall was a financial technology company that developed a gamified online trading and investing platform. Founded in 2008 by Gaspard de Dreuzy, a video game entrepreneur, and Serge Kreiker, a financial technologist, the firm aimed to make investing more accessible and engaging, particularly for younger generations. The company's mission was to transform investing from a necessity into an enjoyable activity by simplifying complex financial concepts.

The platform's core feature was its user-friendly interface, which replaced traditional ticker symbols with recognizable company logos and utilized a drag-and-drop mechanism for trading. This approach was designed to appeal to the 85 million individuals in Generation Y, who were anticipated to inherit a significant amount of wealth. Kapitall provided a space for users to learn about the market, research stocks, share investment ideas, and build both virtual and real brokerage portfolios. The business model was considered disruptive as it focused on acquiring and engaging emerging investors, a demographic often underserved by traditional brokerage firms.

Throughout its operation, Kapitall achieved several milestones, including raising nearly $25 million in funding from investors such as Linden Venture Fund LLC and Bendigo Partners. By the end of 2013, the platform had grown to over 170,000 registered members who were executing more than 15,000 real and virtual trades monthly. The company was eventually acquired in September 2019.
