Kai Security emerged from stealth in March 2026 with $125 million in seed and Series A funding to address the growing gap between automated cyberattacks and human-led security responses. The San Jose, California-based company was founded by cybersecurity veterans Galina Antova, the former co-founder of OT security firm Claroty, and Damiano Bolzoni, who co-founded SecurityMatters, an OT security company acquired by Forescout Technologies. Their collective experience in converging IT and OT security laid the groundwork for Kai's mission to unify security, engineering, and IT operations.

Kai has developed an agentic AI platform designed to autonomously perform and manage critical cybersecurity tasks across both IT and operational technology (OT) environments. The platform replaces fragmented tools and manual workflows with intelligent AI agents that continuously handle threat intelligence, exposure management, detection, and response. By reasoning, acting, and adapting at machine speed, the platform aims to shift security from a reactive to a proactive posture. Key capabilities include threat detection, application and identity security, threat modeling, vulnerability management, shadow IT/OT discovery, and regulatory compliance automation.

The company's business model is focused on enterprise clients, and it has already secured multiple large customers in sectors such as energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and hospitality, generating seven-figure bookings within ten months of its initial coding. This early traction was supported by its participation in the Chevron Technology Ventures Catalyst Program. The substantial funding, led by Evolution Equity Partners with participation from N47 and other strategic investors, is being used to accelerate research and development, scale the platform, and expand go-to-market efforts to meet global demand as organizations increasingly face AI-driven cyber threats.
