JUPUS is a Cologne-based legal-tech company that builds an AI secretariat for law firms, automating client intake and administrative work from first contact through case preparation and document drafting (powers of attorney, fee agreements). The platform includes a website chatbot that structures inquiries, GDPR-compliant workflows and integrations with practice-management software; press cites more than 2,000 lawyers using the product and over 2,000 new legal cases processed through JUPUS AI each day. Founded in 2022 by René Fergen and Jannis Gebauer. After a €1.3 million pre-seed from High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and angels and a €6.5 million seed led by Acton Capital in May 2025, JUPUS in June 2026 raised a €13 million Series A led by Semapa Next, with NRW.BANK joining via NRW.Venture and existing backers Acton Capital and HTGF participating. Capital expands AI capabilities and presence among small and mid-sized European law firms.
