JetBrains s.r.o. is a global software development company that produces tools for programmers and project managers. It was founded in Prague in 2000 under the name IntelliJ Software by Russian software developers Sergey Dmitriev, Valentin Kipiatkov, and Eugene Belyaev. The founders, who had previously worked at TogetherSoft, created the company without any external financing. The company's first product was IntelliJ Renamer, a tool for code refactoring in Java.

The company's business model is centered on software subscriptions, including an "All Products Pack" that provides access to all developer tools. JetBrains also offers a perpetual fallback license, allowing users to keep the software version they purchased even after their subscription ends. While many of its professional tools require a paid subscription, the company also provides free Community Editions for some of its IDEs and free licenses for non-commercial use, students, and open-source projects.

JetBrains offers a comprehensive suite of products catering to various programming languages and technologies. Its core offerings are Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) known for deep semantic code understanding, refactoring capabilities, and productivity features. Key IDEs include IntelliJ IDEA (for Java and JVM languages), PyCharm (for Python), WebStorm (for JavaScript), Rider (for .NET), and CLion (for C/C++). Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, JetBrains operates globally with offices in Europe, China, and the United States. In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company suspended all sales and R&D activities in Russia and liquidated its Russian legal entity in 2023. The founders, Dmitriev and Kipiatkov, renounced their Russian citizenship. As of 2023, the company reported 11.4 million recurring active users.
