About Jackrabbit Equipment
In 1981, in the heart of California's Central Valley, Earl Anderson saw a problem. Nut growers were spending too much time and money on their harvest. So, he did something simple but powerful: he asked them what they needed. Armed with this direct feedback, Anderson founded Jackrabbit Equipment and designed its first product, a bank-out system, to make harvesting faster and more efficient. This principle of building solutions for growers' real-world problems became the company's foundation. For over three decades, Jackrabbit grew from a single product into a full lineup of durable and reliable harvesting equipment, becoming an industry standard. Following Anderson's death in 2013, the company he built to solve growers' problems faced a new chapter. It was first acquired by Pegasus Capital Group and Gladstone Investment Corporation, ensuring the founder's legacy would continue. The company's value and brand strength attracted another buyer, private equity firm Midwest Growth Partners, which later took over ownership from Gladstone. A pivotal moment arrived in October 2024 when Jackrabbit, under Midwest Growth Partners' ownership, announced a merger with Exact Corporation, another major player in agricultural equipment. This merger combined Jackrabbit's legacy of durable machinery with Exact's focus on innovative and sustainable technology. The new, larger entity aims to provide a comprehensive suite of products for the modern farmer, cementing Jackrabbit's journey from one man's idea to a cornerstone of the agricultural equipment industry.
