Founded in 2017 by brothers Fernando and David Pares, ISA is a Brazilian healthtech company providing at-home healthcare services. The founders' background is rooted in the healthcare sector; their father founded the LEGO laboratory network, and David is a physician who worked at Hospital Albert Einstein for over seven years, while Fernando has prior entrepreneurial experience in the health industry.

The company operates with an asset-light business model, connecting patients with a network of independent nurses and phlebotomists for at-home services, which include diagnostic exams, COVID-19 tests, and vaccinations. This model aims to reduce costs by up to 50% compared to traditional laboratories by eliminating real estate and non-clinical expenses. Its logistics are optimized by using separate professionals for sample collection (nurses) and transportation ('bioconductors'), increasing the number of daily appointments a nurse can handle.

ISA primarily serves the B2B market, which accounts for 80% of its revenue, partnering with health insurance plans, hospitals, and corporate clients like iFood and BTG. The remaining 20% comes from direct-to-consumer services. In November 2022, ISA acquired Saúde C, a home healthcare startup, to expand its portfolio to include hospital-level care at home, such as administering IV drips. The company has raised significant funding, including a BRL 60 million round in August 2022 and an additional US$ 6 million in November 2022, from investors such as Fleury, Sabin, Vox Capital, and the family that controls Rede D'Or.
