A significant milestone in Ipanema's history was its acquisition by InfoVista, a network performance solutions provider, in April 2015. This acquisition was part of InfoVista's strategy to orchestrate network and application performance, particularly over hybrid WANs. Later, in 2021, the Ipanema division was acquired from Infovista by Extreme Networks for approximately €60 million ($73 million). This move was intended to bolster Extreme Networks' ExtremeCloud portfolio with cloud-managed SD-WAN and security solutions, reflecting the industry's shift towards Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and cloud-native platforms.
