Founded in 2015 by Guy Nizan, Alon Arvatz, and Gal Ben-David, IntSights carved a niche for itself in the cybersecurity landscape by focusing on external threat intelligence. The founding team's background is deeply rooted in elite Israeli military intelligence and cybersecurity units, providing them with a distinct understanding of hacker methodologies. IntSights operates by monitoring the clear, deep, and dark web to identify and neutralize cyber threats before they breach a client's perimeter. Its primary offering is a cloud-native, all-in-one External Threat Protection Suite. This platform provides tailored, real-time intelligence on potential threats such as phishing schemes, fraudulent applications, and data leakages. The business model centers on providing this threat intelligence as a service, serving a diverse client base that includes major names in the financial services, retail, and manufacturing sectors. By delivering contextualized alerts and automating remediation through integration with existing security systems, the platform aims to reduce the workload on internal security teams.

A significant milestone in the company's history was its acquisition by Rapid7 in July 2021 for approximately $335 million in cash and stock. This event integrated IntSights' external threat intelligence capabilities into Rapid7's broader eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) platform, InsightIDR, creating a unified view of both internal and external threats. Prior to the acquisition, IntSights had successfully raised approximately $70 million through several funding rounds, with investors including Qumra Capital, Blackstone, and Wipro. Post-acquisition, the Israeli operations of IntSights were designated as Rapid7's R&D center in the region.
