Instruqt
Virtual IT labs for hands-on software training.
About Instruqt
Instruqt provides a hands-on virtual IT lab platform designed for software companies to deliver interactive product demos, training, and self-service test drives. Established in 2018 by Coert Baart and Adé Mochtar, the company is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The concept for Instruqt originated when a team of engineers from the IT service company Xebia was tasked with showcasing HashiCorp products at a conference. They developed gamified sandbox environments that allowed attendees to gain firsthand experience with the tools by solving challenges, a method that proved highly engaging and effective. This initial success planted the seed for what would become the Instruqt platform. Before co-founding the company, CTO Adé Mochtar was an engineer and consultant specializing in Cloud and DevOps, where he focused on helping organizations adopt new technologies. The company operates on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription model, enabling go-to-market teams at technology firms to drive product adoption. The platform allows clients like MongoDB, Datadog, and Google to create immersive, browser-based sandbox environments that replicate real-world product usage without requiring downloads or complex configurations. These environments are used for a variety of purposes, including lead generation, accelerating sales cycles through effective proof-of-concept demos, and scalable customer and employee training. Instruqt's platform integrates with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and supports technologies like Kubernetes and Docker. It also offers integrations with CRM and LMS tools to streamline lead capture and educational workflows. After being bootstrapped and incubated by Xebia, Instruqt secured €15 million in a Series A funding round led by Blossom Capital in May 2023. This represented the company's first external venture capital investment. The platform is recognized for its ability to provide measurable insights and analytics on user engagement, helping companies understand how their products are being used. Since its launch, Instruqt has hosted over 1.6 million demos and training sessions for more than a million users.
