Instantis
Cloud-based project portfolio management software solution
About Instantis
Instantis was a provider of cloud-based and on-premise project portfolio management (PPM) software. The company was founded in 1999 by Prasad Raje and was based in Santa Clara, California. Before its acquisition, Instantis raised a total of $28.8M in funding over three rounds, with investors including Goldman Sachs, USVP, and J.F. Shea Co.
In November 2012, Oracle announced its acquisition of Instantis for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition was part of Oracle's strategy to expand its cloud-based and on-premise Enterprise Project Portfolio Management solutions, combining Instantis's offerings with Oracle's Primavera and Fusion Applications. At the time of the acquisition, Instantis's management team and employees were expected to join the Oracle Primavera Global Business Unit.
The company's flagship product, Instantis EnterpriseTrack, was a PPM solution used by IT and business leaders to manage corporate initiatives, improve strategy execution, and enhance financial performance. The platform provided a top-down approach to manage, track, and report on enterprise strategies, projects, portfolios, and resources. EnterpriseTrack offered features for project, resource, financial, and risk management, along with reporting, analytics, and collaboration tools. It was designed for rapid deployment and could be configured to support various business needs, including new product development and IT governance. The solution served a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, and services, with clients like Xerox, Credit Suisse, and Verizon.
