Insly
Cloud-based insurance software for insurance brokers and agents to replace papers and spreadsheets
About Insly
Insly is a software provider that offers a cloud-based, low-code platform for the insurance industry, targeting managing general agents (MGAs), insurers, and brokers. The company was founded by Risto Rossar, an Estonian entrepreneur with extensive experience in the insurance sector. Rossar's journey began in 2000 when he established IIZI, considered the world's first digital insurance broker, which grew to be the largest in the Baltic states and Finland. Recognizing a gap in the market for modern, user-friendly technology for insurance professionals, Rossar sold the brokerage business in 2014 and spun out its technology and team to create Insly.
The firm provides a suite of modular software solutions designed to digitize and automate the entire insurance lifecycle, including product building, distribution, policy administration, claims management, accounting, and reporting. Its low-code platform enables insurance professionals, even those without IT expertise, to create and launch non-life insurance products in weeks, manage distribution through broker portals or direct-to-consumer channels, and automate back-office functions. This approach aims to reduce implementation time, lower operational costs, and increase efficiency, allowing clients to handle higher volumes of gross written premium (GWP). Revenue is generated through a subscription-based model, with pricing tailored to the client's needs.
Initially focused on providing a SaaS solution for brokers, Insly has since expanded its offerings to cater to MGAs and insurance companies. A significant milestone was the launch of its low-code platform for MGAs and insurers, which accelerated customer onboarding significantly. The company has steadily grown, securing multiple funding rounds from investors like Concentric, Black Pearls, and UNIQA Ventures. In 2023, Insly acquired the insurance arm of TubaPay, a Polish payments company, to integrate payment processing into its services under the brand InslyPay. Headquartered in London, with its core development unit in Tallinn, Estonia, and offices in Warsaw and Vilnius, Insly serves over 1,000 businesses and 15,000 users across 52 countries, having achieved profitability and an annual revenue run rate of €8 million.
