About InnovaSea Systems

InnovaSea Systems provides technologically advanced aquatic solutions for fish tracking and open-ocean aquaculture. The company was founded in 2015 through the merger of two U.S.-based aquaculture solution providers, OceanSpar LLC and Ocean Farm Technologies. InnovaSea is a portfolio company of Cuna del Mar, a private equity firm focused on open-ocean aquaculture projects which is run by the Walton family, founders of Walmart. The current CEO is Mark Jollymore, who was appointed in November 2025 after serving as interim CEO since May 2025. Jollymore joined InnovaSea in 2017 following the acquisition of Amirix Systems, where he was President and CEO.

The company operates on a business-to-business model, serving aquaculture operators and researchers. Its offerings are divided into four main categories: open ocean aquaculture, land-based aquaculture, aquaculture intelligence, and fish tracking. InnovaSea's product suite includes hardware like submersible net pens, automated feeding systems, environmental sensors, acoustic tags and receivers, and underwater cameras. A key product is the Realfish Pro platform, a cloud-based system that allows farm operators to monitor and control water conditions, manage feeding, and automate aeration and oxygenation from a computer or mobile device. This platform integrates data from sensors and cameras to provide real-time insights and analytics, enabling data-driven decisions to optimize operations and improve fish health.

InnovaSea has grown through a series of strategic acquisitions. In 2017, it acquired Amirix Systems, which added expertise in acoustic telemetry and environmental monitoring through its subsidiaries Vemco and Realtime Aquaculture. In 2019, the company acquired Vemco and HTI, developers of acoustic telemetry tools, integrating their technology into its fish tracking solutions. That same year, it also acquired Norway's Nortek Akvakultur to enhance environmental monitoring and Water Management Technologies to enter the recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) sector. More recently, InnovaSea acquired Aquanetix in May 2023. This strategy has enabled the company to offer end-to-end integrated solutions, from hatchery and nursery support to final harvest. The company provides comprehensive design and consulting services for both land-based and open-ocean farms.
