Inibio
Aesthetic science platform developing botulinum toxin products
About Inibio
Inibio is a South Korean biomedical company established in September 2017, operating as an aesthetic science platform that specializes in developing, manufacturing, and exporting medical aesthetic products. The company's flagship product is "Inibo," a botulinum toxin type A injection developed to temporarily improve glabellar (forehead) wrinkles. The toxin is derived from a microbial strain from the Culture Collection University of Gothenburg (CCUG) in Sweden, and the company utilizes a patented vacuum drying method to enhance quality and production efficiency.
Headquartered in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, with an office in Seoul, Inibio operates a cGMP-grade production facility capable of producing up to 9 million vials annually. The company follows a Quality by Design (QbD) manufacturing process, ensuring that materials and processes meet FDA and EMA standards. In July 2023, South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) granted approval for the domestic sale of Inibo. Prior to this, the product had already been approved for export.
The company has secured numerous exclusive distribution agreements with international partners in countries including China, Brazil, Peru, Thailand, Taiwan, Kuwait, and Costa Rica. In February 2025, Inibio was acquired by the South Korean parent company GC Biopharma (formerly GC Green Cross). Before the acquisition, Inibio had received venture capital funding from investors such as Blocore, Kiwoom Securities Company, and SBI Investment Korea Company.
