Founded in 2021 by Lina Colucci, Sidney Primas, Andrew Weitz, and Daniel Hensley, the San Francisco-based startup aims to address the bottlenecks in traditional data collection and annotation, which are often expensive and slow. The founders previously established an AI consulting firm, Edge Analytics, where they encountered the challenge of data scarcity for ML models, which led to the creation of Infinity AI.

The company's core offering is a self-serve API and generative tools that allow ML engineers to create vast amounts of perfectly labeled synthetic video data from a single real-world video. The platform uses a combination of physics-based simulations and generative techniques, including a Stable Diffusion-based tool, to produce videos with desired statistical distributions of camera angles, lighting, and avatar appearances. This service is designed for ML engineers, enabling them to ship production models faster and at a lower cost—reportedly in half the time and for a tenth of the cost of traditional methods. The business model provides this synthetic data as a service, catering to clients in sectors such as fitness, robotics, smart retail, and industrial safety. Early customers include Voxel Safety, Tempo Fitness, and several Fortune 500 companies.

Infinity AI has secured a total of $5.12 million in funding over two seed rounds. A significant round in December 2022, led by Matrix, raised $5 million. This was followed by a $125,000 round from Y Combinator in 2024. The company also offers the Infinity Marketplace, described as the world's largest open-source marketplace for synthetic datasets, providing millions of free frames for both commercial and research use.
