About ImpactRx

ImpactRx, founded in 2000 by Terry Overton and Gerald Gallivan, was a market research firm specializing in the pharmaceutical industry. The company provided analytics and solutions to biopharmaceutical, consumer health, and medical device companies by tracking the impact of pharmaceutical promotions on physicians' prescribing behaviors. It utilized proprietary technology and longitudinal panels of physicians to collect data on their perceptions, activities, and treatment decisions in response to promotional efforts.

In April 2011, Symphony Technology Group (STG), a private equity firm, acquired a majority stake in ImpactRx. Following this, ImpactRx embarked on a series of acquisitions to broaden its capabilities. It acquired TargetRx in September 2011, a firm that provided insights into the drivers of physician behavior. In March 2012, ImpactRx acquired AlphaDetail, a leader in global healthcare primary market research and influence network mapping. These strategic acquisitions aimed to combine ImpactRx's data on physician behavior with a deeper understanding of the underlying attitudes and motivations.

In May 2012, STG acquired Source Healthcare Analytics and combined it with ImpactRx, TargetRx, and AlphaDetail to form a new entity called Symphony Health Solutions. The entity created by the initial mergers, AlphaImpactRx, was later sold by STG to IMS Health in February 2016. IMS Health, now known as IQVIA, is a global provider of information and technology services for the healthcare industry.
