Zags, originally incorporated as Insurance Global Operations (IGO), operated in the insurtech sector, providing core software solutions for the property & casualty and group life insurance markets. The company was founded by Olivier Jaillon, who served as its CEO.

The firm's strategic focus was on transforming legacy systems within the insurance industry. It developed a software platform designed to streamline and modernize essential operations, including policy administration, billing, and claims processing. The objective was to offer carriers a more efficient data processing alternative, addressing common operational pain points through a blend of technology and an improved user experience. Zags aimed to help insurers enhance their customer-centricity and achieve greater operational excellence.

The company's journey included securing an early-stage venture capital funding round on June 9, 2014, positioning it as a formerly VC-backed entity. A notable milestone occurred in December 2015 when Zags launched a redesigned, interactive website to better communicate its value proposition and philosophy of delivering innovation with a human touch. Despite its efforts to penetrate the financial software market, the New York-based company ultimately ceased operations. According to PitchBook data, Zags went out of business on August 1, 2017.
