About Iceberg Quantum

Iceberg Quantum is a Sydney-based quantum architecture company designing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures built on quantum low-density parity-check (qLDPC) error-correction codes, which it claims reduce physical-qubit overhead by more than an order of magnitude compared with surface codes. Its flagship design is the Pinnacle architecture. Founded in 2023 by University of Sydney researchers Felix Thomsen (CEO), Samuel Smith (CTO) and Larry Cohen (CSO), the company partners with PsiQuantum (photonics), Oxford Ionics (trapped ions) and Diraq (silicon spin qubits) to co-design fault-tolerant architectures. It raised a $2M pre-seed in March 2025 (Blackbird and LocalGlobe) and a $6M seed in February 2026 (LocalGlobe, Blackbird, DCVC), and is opening a Berlin office while building a US presence.
