iCarsClub launched in Singapore in 2012 as a peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace, positioning itself as a solution to the high cost of car ownership in the city-state. The company was founded by Eddy Zhang, Chengkun Xue, and Joya Zhao Hong, a team of mainland Chinese entrepreneurs with backgrounds from Tsinghua University and Baidu. They chose Singapore as a test market due to its high demand for private cars, safe environment, and the potential to replicate the business model in other cities.

The business operates as a two-sided platform connecting car owners with individuals seeking short-term vehicle rentals. Car owners could list their vehicles and monetize their idle time, while renters gained access to a variety of cars at hourly or daily rates, often 30-50% lower than traditional rental services. Revenue was generated through a commission-based model, initially taking a 15-20% cut from each transaction. A key feature was the proprietary "iCarBox" hardware, a device installed in the vehicles that enabled keyless entry via a renter's smartphone, eliminating the need for owners and renters to meet for a key exchange.

Supported by NUS Enterprise, iCarsClub went live on December 12, 2012, and quickly gained traction. In March 2013, the company secured S$589,000 (US$482,000) in seed funding from Red Dot Ventures. The company expanded its operations to China in 2013 under the brand name PPZuche. Subsequent funding rounds, including a $10 million Series A in June 2014 and a $60 million Series B in November 2014, were raised to fuel growth in both Singapore and China. By late 2014, the platform boasted 1,400 cars in Singapore and 25,000 in Beijing. Despite its initial growth and significant funding, the company is now listed as deadpooled or out of business.
