Hybron is an El Segundo, California advanced-composites manufacturer building high-speed, lower-cost carbon-fiber parts to replace steel and other metals in aerospace and defense systems—from jet-engine compressor blades to 155mm artillery shells. Co-founded by CEO Brennan Lieu and Aaron Guo, who met while working at a small composites shop for racecar engines, Hybron uses carbon fiber and high-pressure molding with reported cycle times of about 10–15 minutes after thousands of parts tested, aiming for roughly five-times-cheaper and far faster production than traditional composites processes. Early products included carbon-fiber compressor blades for converting aircraft engines to AI data-center power generation; the company also cites a nine-figure European munitions contract for composite 155mm shells (floor over $100M, ceiling $600M per CEO comments to press). In April 2026 Hybron closed an oversubscribed $25 million seed round led by Marque Ventures, with First In, DTX Ventures, Veteran Ventures Capital, Ultratech, Bravo Victor Venture Capital (BVVC), Gaingels, ZEA, American Center for Manufacturing Innovation and angels including Matt Ocko, bringing total funding to roughly $30 million to scale shell qualification and low-rate production toward about 1,000 shells per month.
