AI-native actuarial intelligence for corporate risk managers.
About Huscarl
Huscarl is an AI-native actuarial platform that helps corporate risk managers, captives and risk retention groups manage insurance programmes more like insurers do. Founded in 2025 by CEO Alexandre Musy, a PhD actuary who worked on cyber parametric insurance at Descartes Underwriting, and CTO Paulien Jeunesse, a former underwriter and member of the French captive federation, Huscarl is backed by Y Combinator. The platform ingests unstructured data, models unusual exposures and automates actuarial workflows, including captive appointed-actuary services and outsourced underwriting. Early customers include a risk retention group and a single-parent captive of a company with more than $2 billion in revenue, and the firm reports average premium reductions around 30% while maintaining or improving coverage. In September 2026 the company raised a $5.6 million seed round led by Frst Capital, with Y Combinator and Silicon Valley angels participating, to scale the platform.
