Hullbot is an Australian company that designs, develops, and deploys autonomous underwater robots for cleaning and inspecting vessel hulls. This approach maintains the vessel's hull in optimal condition, reducing fuel consumption by as much as 12-20% and minimizing the need for toxic, ablative anti-fouling coatings. The robots, which weigh around 10kg, are equipped with 4K cameras, sensors, and gentle brushes, allowing them to operate autonomously day or night without disrupting the vessel's schedule. Beyond cleaning, the system provides regular hull inspection reports, creating 3D models to detect damage without the need for human divers. The company serves both commercial fleet operators, such as the NRMA's Manly Fast Ferry, and private yacht owners.
