Horangi Cyber Security, established in Singapore in 2016, offers a suite of cybersecurity solutions tailored for organizations operating in the cloud. The company was founded by Paul Hadjy and Lee Sult, former cybersecurity engineers from Palantir Technologies. Hadjy's experience as the Head of IT and Information Security at Grab revealed a gap in the Asian market for regional service providers who understood cloud security challenges, which prompted the creation of Horangi. A significant milestone for the company was its acquisition by global cybersecurity leader Bitdefender, which was agreed to in June 2023 and completed in August 2023.

Horangi operates on a multi-faceted business model, combining a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform with a range of professional consulting services. The company serves a diverse client base, from small and medium-sized enterprises to large tech companies, particularly within the technology, finance, and healthcare sectors in Southeast Asia. Revenue is generated through subscriptions to its software and fees for its expert-led services. Before its acquisition, Horangi had raised a total of $23.1 million over two funding rounds, including a $20 million Series B in March 2020.

The company's flagship product is Warden, a cloud-native platform designed to secure critical cloud infrastructures. Warden functions as a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) tool, continuously monitoring for misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and compliance violations across major public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. A key differentiator for Warden is its focus on Asian compliance standards, such as MAS TRM and BNM-RMiT, alongside international frameworks like ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS. Beyond its software, Horangi provides CREST-accredited consulting services, which include penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, and virtual CISO (vCISO) services. These services were integrated into Bitdefender's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offerings post-acquisition.
