Highdeal
Software for telecoms and ISPs
About Highdeal
Highdeal originated within the research and development labs of France Télécom in 1996 before being officially established as a standalone company in 2000. A team that included Eric Pillevesse and Serge Soudoplatoff founded the company, which established its headquarters in Paris, France. Highdeal secured $24 million in funding from investors including 3i Group, Innovacom, Innovation Capital, and Newbury Ventures.
The company specialized in providing complex pricing and rating solutions for business support systems (BSS). Its core business was centered on the Highdeal Transactive® software, a modular suite designed to monetize business transactions in real-time. This system offered capabilities for real-time rating, pricing, and balance management. Highdeal catered to industries with rapidly evolving business models that required flexible billing solutions, such as telecommunications, media, transportation, logistics, and financial services. The company’s revenue model was based on selling software licenses for its Transactive® platform.
Highdeal's platform addressed the challenges of high-volume, consumption-based billing, enabling companies to manage diverse payment models and partner settlements. A significant milestone was achieved in August 2006, when Highdeal Transactive® became certified for the SAP NetWeaver® platform, ensuring interoperability with SAP's application suite and paving the way for joint business opportunities. This partnership and the company's established presence, with over 180 implementations in more than 50 countries, culminated in its acquisition by SAP in May 2009. Following the acquisition, Highdeal's technology was integrated into SAP's portfolio and is now known as SAP Convergent Charging, a core component of SAP's Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) solution.
