AusperBio
Oligonucleotide therapeutics aiming for functional cure of chronic hepatitis B
About AusperBio
AusperBio is a near-commercial biopharmaceutical company developing targeted oligonucleotide therapeutics for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and related diseases, with operations in the United States and China. Co-founded in 2019 by CEO Dr. Guofeng Cheng and CSO Dr. Chris Yang, it builds on the proprietary Med-Oligo™ antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) platform and Au-HALO™ targeted delivery technology. Lead candidate AHB-137 is an investigational unconjugated ASO designed to suppress HBsAg, inhibit viral DNA replication and support immune reactivation toward functional cure; it has advanced through global Phase 1 and multiple Phase 2 studies and is in a Phase 3 registrational program in China, with Breakthrough Therapy Designation from China’s CDE. AHB-171 is an investigational hepatocyte-targeted siRNA for CHB on the Au-HALO™ platform. In August 2026 AusperBio closed a $120 million Series C led by a leading strategic investor, with new investor RA Capital and returning HanKang Capital, Sherpa Capital, InnoPinnacle Fund, Qiming Venture Partners, YuanBio Venture Capital and CDH Investments, bringing capital raised since 2024 to $360 million to advance AHB-137 toward potential commercialization, accelerate AHB-171 and combination approaches, and expand the oligonucleotide pipeline.
