Hammerhead
AI-driven power orchestration for data center optimization
About Hammerhead
Hammerhead AI provides a software platform that enables AI factory and data center operators to maximize power utilization for AI workloads. The company emerged from stealth in November 2025 with a $10 million seed funding round led by Buoyant Ventures, with participation from SE Ventures and others.
The company was founded by CEO Rahul Kar and CTO Rajeev Singh, who previously built and scaled AutoGrid, a company focused on power orchestration technologies that was later acquired by Schneider Electric. Their experience at AutoGrid, orchestrating large-scale energy assets, led to the realization that power, not just computing hardware, is the critical bottleneck for scaling AI. They are joined by Sadia Raveendran, who managed AutoGrid's partnership with Schneider Electric, and veterans from Dell, HPE, Microsoft, and Meta.
Hammerhead's core product is the Orchestrated RL Control Agents (ORCA) platform. It uses reinforcement learning to dynamically orchestrate workloads within existing power budgets, optimizing the entire data center system, including power generation, cooling systems, IT infrastructure, and the AI workloads themselves. This approach targets increasing system-wide token productivity rather than just power efficiency. By identifying and reallocating stranded or underutilized power—as data centers often run at only 30-50% of their power capacity—the ORCA platform can increase AI workload output by up to 30%. This allows operators to deploy workloads more rapidly, improve gross margins, and generate revenue from previously idle capacity without waiting for grid expansions.
The business model targets AI factory operators, colocation providers, hyperscalers, and enterprises looking to improve the economic and performance metrics of their AI infrastructure. Hammerhead AI is a graduate of SE Ventures' inaugural Accelerator Program and is part of Nvidia's Inception Program, fostering deep ties with industry leaders like Schneider Electric and Digital Realty.
