About GuestLogix

Founded in 2002 by Tom Douramakos and Brett Proud, GuestLogix is a Toronto-based technology company that pioneered the "cashless cabin" concept, transforming how airlines manage and monetize inflight retail. The company provides a comprehensive travel commerce platform for the passenger travel industry, focusing on increasing ancillary revenue for airlines while aiming to improve traveler satisfaction. It serves airlines by offering a suite of tools to manage onboard and off-board retail, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals and software, payment processing, and business intelligence solutions.

The company's journey includes a significant public phase, having been listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange in 2007 and later on the Toronto Stock Exchange. A notable milestone was the acquisition of OpenJaw Technologies in 2014 for $41.2 million. However, GuestLogix faced financial challenges, leading it to enter creditor protection in February 2016. This resulted in the sale of its Onboard business to an investor group led by Stornoway Portfolio Management in July 2016, under which the company re-launched in June 2017.

GuestLogix's platform enables airlines to sell a wide range of products and services, from traditional buy-on-board items and duty-free goods to ground transportation, airport parking, tours, and activities. The system is designed to work in environments with low or no internet connectivity, a crucial feature for in-flight operations. It utilizes a machine learning-driven recommendation engine to deliver personalized offers to travelers through an airline's mobile and web channels, functioning as a digital concierge throughout their journey. This allows airlines to tap into a marketplace of over 1,000 suppliers through a single integration point. The business model centers on empowering airlines to generate revenue at multiple touchpoints, from trip planning to the final destination.

In January 2025, Philip Missler, with a background in leadership roles at Pinterest, Amazon, and eBay, was appointed CEO to accelerate global growth. He joins President Robin Hopper, who has led the company since 2018. The company is backed by investors including Stornoway Portfolio Management and Intercap, who support its long-term strategy of transforming airline retail.
