Greenspot operates within the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure market in France, providing comprehensive charging solutions. Founded in 2016 by Olivier Pelisse, Jean-François Belhomme, and Pierre Siu, the Bordeaux-based company initially focused on installing and operating charging stations for third-party clients. Its client base includes major retail brands like Carrefour and Leclerc, corporate fleets, and individual EV owners.

The company's business model is undergoing a significant transformation. Historically, Greenspot's revenue came from the sale, rental, and operation of charging stations for its clients. However, following a substantial €30 million fundraising round in June 2024, led by Épopée Gestion and OCCTE, the firm is shifting to a new strategy. This new approach involves developing, owning, and operating its own public charging network. This makes Greenspot not just an installer but also an energy seller, described by co-founder Pierre Siu as becoming "gas station attendants for kilowatt-hours." This strategic pivot targets the deployment of 8,500 of its own charging points across 800 sites by 2030, with a focus on medium-sized cities and their suburban commercial areas.

Greenspot offers end-to-end services, from advising clients on the most suitable installations to the ongoing supervision and maintenance of the charging points. Their product range includes AC charging stations for slower, overnight charging (up to 22 kW) and DC fast-charging stations (from 25 kW to 350 kW) for public spaces where speed is essential. For businesses, Greenspot provides a turnkey solution that can increase customer traffic and valorize their property. For individual drivers, the company offers a universal charging badge for a one-time fee, providing access to over 90,000 charging points across France and Europe, with a small surcharge applied when used outside the Greenspot network.
