About Grantlun
In 1989, after a decade leading what became the nation's largest federal highway-bridge contractor, Grant Lungren started Grantlun Corporation. His vision was to build something for the industry he knew inside and out: an integrated estimating and project management software system for infrastructure contractors. This was born from the intellectual property and deep experience Lungren developed during his time at Tanner Construction. For ten years, Grantlun honed this system. By 1999, the product was so effective it attracted outside investment. This capital injection marked a pivotal moment; the company was rebranded as Hard Dollar to broaden its market reach. Under Lungren’s leadership as Chairman and CEO, Hard Dollar grew to become a leading software provider in its niche. But the story doesn't end there. In a unique move, after architecting the next generation of Hard Dollar's system, Lungren retired from the company in 2002. He then re-launched the Grantlun name, but with a new focus. Instead of selling software, the reborn Grantlun would provide high-level management consulting services directly to infrastructure contractors across North America. It was a full-circle journey, from creating a tool to becoming the trusted advisor, leveraging decades of 'been there, done that' experience to guide the next generation of builders.
