Glid Technologies
THE INDUSTRY'S FIRST AUTONOMOUS ROAD TO RAIL SOLUTION
About Glid Technologies
Glid Technologies, established in 2022, is targeting inefficiencies within the crucial "first-mile" of the freight and logistics sector. The company was founded by CEO Kevin A. Damoa, COO Matt Mueller, CTO Chaitali Narla, and Chief Engineer Tony Petraborg. The leadership team possesses extensive experience from prominent organizations such as SpaceX, Google, Northrop Grumman, and the U.S. military. Damoa, a combat veteran and mechanical engineer, previously designed rocket logistics systems at SpaceX, while Mueller brings a background in advanced production systems from the same company. This collective expertise in aerospace, logistics, and autonomy underpins the company's strategic direction.
Glid Technologies is developing autonomous, dual-mode vehicles, known as "Glīders," that operate seamlessly on both roads and existing rail corridors. The core business objective is to eliminate the need for complex transloading equipment like cranes and forklifts when moving standard shipping containers from ports and industrial yards onto the rail network. This addresses a significant bottleneck in the supply chain, where containers often sit idle, incurring costs and delays. The company operates on a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) or Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscription model, offering its solutions to ports, rail operators, government agencies, and other logistics clients.
The product line includes "Rāden," an unmanned, hybrid-electric road-to-rail vehicle, and "GliderM," a manned version designed for initial field operations. These vehicles are managed by EZRA-1SIX, the company's proprietary AI-powered logistics orchestration platform that handles dispatch, multimodal autonomy, and operations. In July 2025, the company announced a $3.1 million pre-seed funding round to advance the development of its platforms and launch field operations in California and Washington. Pilot programs with partners like Mendocino Railway and the Port of Woodland are underway to test and showcase the technology's performance and scalability in real-world environments.
