Geomiq

Geomiq is a digital Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform that connects engineers and procurement teams with a global network of manufacturing partners. The company was founded in London in 2017 by Sam Al-Mukhtar, a mechanical engineer, and William Hoyer Millar. The inspiration for Geomiq came from Al-Mukhtar's own frustrations with the slow, manual, and opaque process of sourcing custom-manufactured parts. The firm's legal entity, GEOMIQ LIMITED, was incorporated on August 8, 2016.

The company's platform leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to streamline the manufacturing workflow, from quoting to delivery. Customers can upload CAD files to the platform and receive instant quotes and design-for-manufacture (DFM) feedback. Geomiq's proprietary AI-powered operating system, GeomiqOS, manages quoting, quality control, delivery risk, and supplier coordination across its global production hubs. The business model is a marketplace where Geomiq takes a commission on each transaction. The platform serves a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and robotics, with clients such as BMW, Brompton Bicycle, and BAE Systems.

Geomiq offers various manufacturing services, including CNC machining, 3D printing, injection moulding, and sheet metal fabrication. It has a network of over 1,000 vetted suppliers and supports more than 190 materials and finishes. Since its inception, the company has manufactured over 12 million parts for more than 7,500 engineers. Geomiq has raised a total of $13.5 million in funding over several rounds, with a notable Series A round of $8.5 million in July 2022 led by AXA Venture Partners. This funding has supported the company's expansion, including the recruitment of new staff and the launch of international quality hubs.
