Genetesis

Genetesis was founded in 2013 by childhood friends Peeyush Shrivastava, Vineet Erasala, and Manny Setegn, who were remarkably young at the time, with two still in high school. The inspiration for the company came from a personal experience with a family member's cardiovascular illness, which highlighted the limitations of existing diagnostic methods.

Shrivastava, who serves as the CEO, and his co-founders have since led Genetesis to become a commercial-stage medical technology company. A significant milestone was the installation of their first prototype system at Michigan’s Ascension Hospital in 2017. The company has attracted notable investment, including from TDK Ventures and Mark Cuban, to support its growth and development.

The company operates in the medical imaging market, targeting emergency departments and cardiology clinics. Its business model revolves around the sale of its proprietary medical imaging system, CardioFlux, to healthcare facilities. This system is designed to improve the triage process for patients presenting with symptoms of a heart attack, such as chest pain.

CardioFlux is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that utilizes biomagnetic imaging to measure the naturally occurring magnetic fields produced by the heart's electrical activity. This allows clinicians to quickly and safely assess a patient's cardiac health without the use of radiation or invasive procedures. The primary benefit is the ability to rapidly rule out or confirm myocardial ischemia, leading to more efficient patient management, reduced costs for hospitals, and improved patient outcomes by avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations and invasive tests.
