Galaxy General Robot Co., also known as Galbot, has developed the G1, a semi-humanoid mobile manipulator designed to automate tasks in the retail sector. The robot, which features wheels and two arms, is built for inventory management, replenishment, delivery, and packaging. The company's artificial intelligence models enable the G1 to handle up to 5,000 different types of goods. In July 2025, Galbot secured approximately $153 million in a funding round, bringing its total capital raised over the prior two years to about $335 million. The company's first 'Galaxy Space Capsule,' a 9 square-meter, replicable retail model, has been launched as a demonstration of its technology. This unit, staffed by robotic systems, can operate 24/7, providing high-frequency consumer goods like beverages, snacks, and medicines. The capsule is designed to serve up to 2,000 people and handle 500 orders daily, marking the establishment of a city-level, regularly operational humanoid robot demonstration area.
