FunPep

FunPep is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that emerged from Osaka University in October 2013, focusing on the practical application of peptide-based research. FunPep's development pipeline targets unmet medical needs. A key candidate is SR-0379, a functional peptide for treating skin ulcers, which has been licensed to Shionogi & Co., Ltd. and has undergone Phase III clinical trials. Another significant asset is FPP003, an antibody-inducing peptide for psoriasis, which has completed Phase I/IIa clinical trials in Australia and is under an option agreement with Sumitomo Pharma. The company is also developing treatments for other conditions, including an allergy vaccine candidate (FPP004X) for pollinosis in collaboration with Shionogi, and is exploring AI-driven drug discovery for constrained peptides.
