The company's core product was the Transient Blocking Unit (TBU), a small, integrated semiconductor component designed to provide fast and effective protection against destructive power surges on communication lines. These devices were crucial for safeguarding sensitive electronic chipsets in equipment like VoIP-enabled gateways, modems, and outdoor network interface devices. The TBU offered a significant advantage by quickly blocking surges, which helped to reduce equipment failure, service calls, and customer churn for service providers.

The company's product line included various TBU devices tailored to meet different international telecommunications standards, such as Telcordia GR-1089 for the North American market and ITU-T K.21 for the international market. On November 1, 2008, Fultec Semiconductor was acquired by Fairchild Semiconductor International. The acquisition was part of a larger trend of consolidation within the semiconductor industry, as larger companies sought to integrate specialized technologies to broaden their product portfolios. Paul Wiener served as the vice president of sales at Fultec.
