About Frankenburg Technologies

Frankenburg Technologies is an Estonian defence-tech company founded in January 2024 by Taavi Madiberk and Marko Virkebau to mass-produce low-cost counter-UAV interceptors. CEO Kusti Salm (former Permanent Secretary of Estonia's Ministry of Defence) and CTO Andreas Bappert lead development of the Mark I short-range fire-and-forget missile — up to 2 km range, 0.5 kg HE fragmentation warhead, AI electro-optic seeker — using modular containerised manufacturing and commercial components for sovereign, local production. Operations span Estonia, Germany, the UK, Ukraine and other markets. The company has raised about €40 million total, including a €30 million Series A led by Plural with Estonian SmartCap Defence Fund, to scale toward EU production capacity of over 100 missiles per day per site and an air-to-air variant.
