Flinn

The company was founded in Vienna, Austria, in 2022 by Bastian Krapinger-Rüther, Markus Müller, and Hasib Samad. The founders have a history of working together on previous entrepreneurial ventures and at the digital bank N26. Their combined experience in the medical industry, product management, and software engineering led them to identify the significant challenges and costs associated with regulatory compliance in MedTech. In October 2024, Flinn raised €6 million in a seed round and later secured a $20 million Series A funding round in February 2026, with plans to expand its platform's capabilities and enter the US market.

Flinn’s core product automates several key compliance workflows. This includes Post-Market Surveillance (PMS), where the software monitors over 15 safety databases for incident reports, and performs AI-assisted literature evaluations for Clinical Evaluation Reports (CER) and Post-Market Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) reporting. The platform also features modules for regulatory monitoring to track changes in global standards and for handling complaint data. By collecting and centralizing data from numerous sources, the system automates repetitive tasks, generates audit-ready reports with a single click, and integrates with existing Quality Management Systems (QMS). This reduces manual work, shortens evaluation cycles, and helps companies like Carl Zeiss, Philips, and Paul Hartmann to allocate more resources toward innovation.
