Fire Point is a Ukrainian defense technology firm that designs, develops, and manufactures long-range strike drones and missile systems. The company was established in Kyiv in mid-2022 in response to Russia's full-scale invasion by a group of engineers, architects, and game designers, including co-founders Denys Shtilerman, Iryna Terekh, and Yehor Skalyha, who repurposed a shell company to focus on unmanned aerial systems. Initially self-funded with approximately $2 million from the founders, the company grew from a small workshop of 18 people to a large-scale manufacturer with thousands of employees by 2025. The company's product line includes the FP-1 and FP-2 series of strike drones, the FP-5 "Flamingo" cruise missile, and the FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles. The FP-1 is a long-range, one-way attack drone credited with over 60% of Ukrainian deep strikes inside Russian territory, targeting assets like oil refineries and command centers. The FP-5 Flamingo is a ground-launched cruise missile with a range of up to 3,000 km and a 1,150 kg warhead. Fire Point has also unveiled ballistic missile systems, such as the FP-9, a short-range missile capable of striking targets up to 855 km away. A key competitive advantage for Fire Point is its proximity to the combat zone, enabling rapid product adaptation through real-time testing and direct feedback from military units. This has positioned the company as a significant driver of technological advancement in the Ukrainian and European defense sectors. The firm operates covert production facilities in Ukraine and has expanded to sites in Denmark. Fire Point is also collaborating with European partners, including Germany's Diehl Defence and Hensoldt, on projects like the FREYJA anti-ballistic missile program, which aims to provide a cost-effective alternative to existing air defense systems.
