Fire Point Defence

Fire Point Defence is a Ukrainian defense technology company that emerged out of necessity following Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. The company specializes in the development and production of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and cruise missiles designed to strike strategic targets deep within enemy territory. The founders pooled their knowledge from diverse fields like construction, game design, and architecture to create novel designs for its weapon systems. Iryna Terekh is the head of production at the company.

The company produces the FP-1 exploding drone, which has a range of up to 1,600 kilometers with a 60kg warhead and is reportedly responsible for a significant percentage of deep strikes inside Russia. Fire Point is also developing its own navigation software for its drones after facing electronic warfare challenges with previously used Western equipment.

A key product is the "Flamingo" (FP-5) cruise missile, which has entered serial production. The Flamingo has a reported range of over 3,000 kilometers and carries a warhead of approximately 1,150 kg. It utilizes a lightweight, radar-transparent fiberglass body, a technology typically used for ballistic missiles, to reduce its visibility. The missile is launched from a compact, mobile platform, allowing for rapid deployment. Production is scaling up, with plans to significantly increase the number of units produced per day by late 2025. The Flamingo has already been used in combat against targets in Russia.
