Farmol

In 1946, in the small community of Comun Nuovo, Italy, a company named Farmol was founded. While the specific founders' names from that era are not widely documented, the Innocenti family took the helm in the 1990s, steering the company with a new vision. Farmol’s business is one you’ve seen a thousand times but likely never noticed: contract manufacturing. They specialize in developing, producing, and packaging aerosol and liquid products for major brands in the personal care, home care, and healthcare sectors. Think of the biggest names in consumer goods; instead of building their own specialized factories for every deodorant spray or cleaning product, they turn to a partner like Farmol. The company became an expert in formulation and filling, growing to operate six manufacturing plants across Italy, Tunisia, Hungary, and Slovakia. This focus allowed them to become a key behind-the-scenes player for multinational corporations. A major turning point came in October 2016, when the private equity firm Green Arrow Capital acquired a majority stake in the company. This move was followed by another significant event in July 2021, when the Spanish private equity firm Portobello Capital acquired 100% of Farmol from Green Arrow Capital and the Innocenti family. The acquisition was designed to further expand Farmol's footprint, enhance its focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions, and continue its growth as a European leader in its niche.
