The firm's core business was to provide a platform for the small-batch production of electronic products. Factorli aimed to address the complexities inherent in the hardware development process for emerging tech companies.

In May 2014, Factorli secured $10 million in a Series A venture funding round. The investment came from VegasTechFund and Tony Hsieh, the then-CEO of Zappos.com, as part of his $350 million downtown redevelopment program for Las Vegas. This capital was intended to scale its small-volume factory operations.

Despite its initial vision and significant backing, the company ceased operations in October 2014. The closure was announced via its website, which also stated that founder Jen McCabe was no longer the chief executive.
