EYEQ Lab
Next-generation power semiconductors for industrial and automotive applications
About EYEQ Lab
EYEQ Lab is a South Korean semiconductor company specializing in the design and manufacturing of next-generation power semiconductors. Founded in 2018 by CEO Kim Geon-je, the company is headquartered in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, with a significant 8-inch manufacturing facility (fab) in Gijang, Busan. The firm operates as an integrated device manufacturer (IDM), handling both the development and production of its products.
The company's core products include power discrete devices and power modules, such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs and Schottky Barrier Diodes (SBD). These components are engineered to improve energy efficiency, enabling electronic devices to become smaller, lighter, and more intelligent. EYEQ Lab serves a variety of sectors, including automotive (specifically electric vehicles), renewable energy, industrial, and consumer electronics.
Since its inception, EYEQ Lab has achieved several key milestones. It was established in 2018 and joined the KAIST Startup Incubation Center. By 2020, it had developed a 1200V SiC power semiconductor and secured a mass production agreement with Busan Technopark. The company has successfully raised significant capital through multiple funding rounds, including a Series C investment of KRW 25 billion in 2024, bringing its total funding to $27.2M. In June 2024, EYEQ Lab began construction on South Korea's first 8-inch SiC power semiconductor factory, a major step in its transition from a fabless design company to a comprehensive semiconductor manufacturer. The company has stated its ambition to become a global top 10 power semiconductor company by 2030 and is preparing for a potential initial public offering (IPO).
