Experic operates as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) and pharmaceutical supply services company, catering to the needs of biopharmaceutical clients. The company was co-founded in 2018 by Eric Bergmann and Jeff Shane, who identified a gap in the market for serving small and mid-sized pharmaceutical firms often overlooked by larger providers. Bergmann, with over two decades in pharmaceutical development and medical device operations, envisioned a company that would combine top talent and technology to support these underserved companies.

The business model centers on providing end-to-end services that support a drug's entire lifecycle, from development and clinical trials to commercial-scale manufacturing and global logistics. Revenue is generated by offering a suite of services on a contractual basis. Experic targets small, mid-sized, and specialty drug developers, providing them with guidance and services for FDA approval processes and continued support for marketed products. The company's operations are headquartered in a 45,500-square-foot cGMP facility in Cranbury, New Jersey, which launched in 2019. This facility is specifically designed for advanced powder filling, low-dose dry powder inhalation products, and can handle various drug delivery formats.

Experic’s service portfolio is comprehensive, encompassing formulation, process development, spray drying, powder blending and filling, and encapsulation. The company also provides a full range of analytical services, primary and secondary packaging, and global clinical trial logistics from its depots in the US and a new facility in Dublin, Ireland, opened in 2024. A key partnership with Harro Höfliger gives Experic access to specialized manufacturing equipment, enhancing its capabilities in capsule filling, powder and pellet dosing, and assembly for devices like auto-injectors. The company has steadily expanded its capabilities, investing in new technologies for highly potent drug handling in 2021 and enlarging its analytical laboratory in 2022. It has raised a total of $29 million in funding over three rounds from investors including 1315 Capital and Harro Höfliger.
