eXmoor Pharma operates as a specialized contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on the cell and gene therapy (CGT) sector. Founded in 2004 by Angela Osborne and four colleagues, the company initially began as a consultancy firm with expertise in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and facility design. Osborne, with over 30 years of experience in the field, identified a critical knowledge gap where drug developers struggled to translate research into viable manufacturing processes. A key asset is eXmoor's 65,000 sq ft Cell and Gene Therapy Centre in Bristol, UK, which became operational in 2023. This purpose-built facility was funded in part by a £12 million investment in 2021 and a subsequent $35 million Series A round in 2023, with investors including MVM Partners and Kineticos Ventures. The facility houses four process-agnostic, Grade C GMP cleanrooms, an integrated fill-finish suite, and extensive quality control laboratories. It is designed for flexibility to support various CGT modalities and is equipped for future expansion. To extend its global reach, eXmoor has formed a strategic partnership with Kincell Bio, a US-based CDMO, to offer seamless manufacturing services across Europe and the United States.
