About Exergy3

Exergy3 is an Edinburgh University spinout developing modular ultra-high-temperature thermal energy storage that converts surplus or curtailed renewable electricity into industrial process heat (about 50°C to 1,200°C), helping factories decarbonise heat while absorbing grid imbalance. Systems are designed for rapid site integration from direct heat to steam. In April 2026 Exergy3 raised a £10 million Seed round led by Axeleo Capital, with Bayern Kapital and Kibo Invest plus existing Scottish Enterprise, Zero Carbon Capital and Old College Capital, to move from pilot to commercial deployment, scale manufacturing and open a Munich office.
