Esh Bank is a digital banking institution headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, established to operate without physical branches. The company was founded in 2016 by a team that includes Nir Zuk, the founder of cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks, Yuval Aloni, Alex Liverant, and Alon Shine. Zuk, leveraging his extensive background in technology and cybersecurity, is a key figure in the venture. The bank is chaired by Shmuel Hauser, the former head of the Israel Securities Authority, with Kobi Malkin serving as the CEO.

The bank received its official license from the Bank of Israel in late 2022. By January 2023, Esh had secured a significant investment from Clal Insurance, which acquired a 4.99% stake, valuing the digital bank at over $500 million. The company has raised a total of $35.5 million over multiple funding rounds to support its development and launch. Despite its licensing and funding, as of mid-2025, the bank has not yet commenced public operations.

Esh's business model centers on providing a fully digital banking experience for both individuals and small businesses. The service portfolio is designed to include current accounts, which will not have management fees, as well as deposits, loans, credit cards, and advanced payment services. A core component of Esh's strategy is its proprietary core banking technology, developed by its subsidiary Esh OS. This modern platform is engineered to be modular and adaptive, allowing for the rapid integration of new applications and services to meet evolving customer needs, a distinct feature compared to the legacy systems used by traditional banks. The technology is also intended for licensing to other financial entities.
