Founded in Xiamen, China, in 2018, the firm has established itself as a key domestic supplier aiming to address the country's reliance on foreign-made RF chips, particularly for 5G applications. The company is chaired by Jia Bin, who has articulated a vision of strengthening China's position in the RF module market.

EPICMEMS develops and manufactures RF filters and chips designed for high-speed, stable connectivity in mobile devices, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other communications platforms. Its business model is centered on the design, production, and sale of these semiconductor components to major electronics manufacturers. The company serves a high-volume client base that includes prominent brands such as Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. Since its inception, EPICMEMS has demonstrated significant production capacity, having shipped over 900 million chips by the end of 2023.

The company's product portfolio is segmented into distinct product lines, including the 'Silicon Leopard' (SiliBAW) series of bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters, the 'Hummingbird' range of surface acoustic wave (SAW) receiving modules, and the 'Phoenix' series of transmitting modules. This diverse offering addresses different technical requirements within the RF front-end module. EPICMEMS has successfully secured substantial funding to fuel its growth and expand its production capabilities. After a Series A round of approximately $45 million in March 2021 and a Series A+ round in May 2022, the company raised at least $28 million in a Series B round in early 2024, bringing its total funding over the prior three years to more than $100 million. These capital infusions, backed by investors like Xienuo Investment, Hongshi Capital, and Foxconn Industrial Internet, are being utilized to broaden its filter product range and increase shipment volumes.
