Enginprime Medical is a Chinese medical device company developing percutaneous ventricular assist devices (pVAD) for patients with heart failure and those undergoing high-risk cardiac procedures. Founded in 2023 through Voyagers Capital's venture-creation model and based in Hangzhou and Shanghai, the company's flagship product, OpusOne, is a catheter-based pump built with an ultra-low 8F profile, a foldable self-expanding impeller, and integrated invasive blood pressure monitoring, aiming to deliver higher flow rates from a smaller device than competing systems. The device supports cardiac output during procedures such as Complex Higher-risk Indicated Patient percutaneous coronary intervention (CHIP PCI) and can serve as a bridge to transplantation or recovery for heart failure patients. Enginprime's customers are hospitals and clinical teams treating cardiovascular disease, an underserved market in China where, according to the company, no pVAD product has yet received regulatory approval despite tens of thousands of procedures performed globally each year. OpusOne began first-in-human trials in December 2025 at the Second Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and the company positions the device to compete with established players such as Abiomed's Impella. In August 2026, Enginprime closed a $12 million Series A round led by Qiming Venture Partners to fund its China registration trial and early-stage global clinical development.
