About Emotibot
Emotibot, also known as Zhujian Intelligence, was founded in Shanghai in 2015 by Kenny Chien (简仁贤), a former Partner Director of Engineering at Microsoft. Chien's vision, inspired by the movie "Her," was to create AI-powered conversational bots that can understand human language and emotions. His extensive background in conversational AI and search technology, including leading the development of Microsoft's Xiaoice and Asian Cortana products, provided the foundational expertise for the company.
The company develops an artificial intelligence platform specializing in natural language processing (NLP) and emotional computing. Emotibot's core business revolves around providing enterprise-level AI solutions that integrate into a company's existing operations to enhance efficiency and customer experience. Its clientele spans various sectors including finance, e-commerce, smart devices, healthcare, and manufacturing, with notable clients like Huawei, China Merchants Bank, and iQiyi. The business model focuses on both private and cloud-based deployments, offering its AI platform products through subscription and rental models to provide lower-cost digital transformation for businesses.
Emotibot's main offering is a suite of AI platforms designed to build and manage emotionally intelligent virtual assistants and chatbots. The product lineup includes the "Bot Factory" for creating custom dialogue-based AI, the "Gemini" knowledge engineering platform, and an "AICC+" solution for intelligent contact centers. These platforms leverage technologies like NLP, automatic speech recognition, computer vision, and multimodal emotion recognition to understand user intent and sentiment from text, voice, and visual cues. This enables the creation of digital employees for roles in customer service, sales, and internal support, capable of handling tasks from answering queries to analyzing customer emotions in real-time. Having secured significant funding, including a Series D round in July 2022, Emotibot has raised a total of $145 million over six rounds to fuel its research and expansion.
