About Elorian

Elorian is a Palo Alto AI research lab building multimodal models for native visual reasoning — understanding images, spatial relationships and physical-world constraints directly rather than converting visuals into text first — aimed at applications such as robotics, engineering, architecture, automotive design and medicine. Co-founded by former Google DeepMind researcher Andrew Dai (CEO; co-led Gemini pre-training data work), Yinfei Yang (AI research at Google and Apple) and Seth Neel (former Harvard professor), the company develops reasoning models on open-source bases and plans a public model release within about a year while discussing early customer use cases. Emerging in April 2026, Elorian raised $55 million in seed funding at a $300 million valuation (two tranches, the later at $300 million) from Striker Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures and Altimeter Capital, with participation from Nvidia and AI researcher Jeff Dean, to hire researchers and build visual-reasoning models for physical-world decisions.
